Missing our little girl!

This weekend our little sweetie went to spend the weekend with Nana and Papa! We kept brother, since he is still potty training. (He's doing pretty well too. This last week he had only a handful of accidents and the ones he's had, have been right before bedtime when he is tired. . . hopefully this keeps up with the big move ahead!!!)

Boy, have we missed sister! It is amazing how quiet it has been around the house this weekend. You would also have thought we would have gotten a lot more done without her, but for some reason little brother has become all that much more work without sister around. We never realized until now that she is gone how much they entertain each other. . . even though we thought they mostly fought when they were together! We are looking forward to picking her up today and getting to hear all about her exciting weekend seeing all the baby colts, getting her new bike, playing with her cousins, and much, much more!

Happy Boy!

I am not always this happy when mommy makes me sit on the potty, but she caught me at a good moment! Tonight for the first time since we started potty training Mommy and Daddy took me into town to get some things. They asked me every 10 minutes if I needed to go and I kept shaking my head and saying NO! They even took me into the bathroom in one of the stores to try to make me go before they headed home! I didn't have to go and they couldn't make me. I could overhear them talking on the way home that they knew I was going to be wet when we got home and that they were going to have to wash the car seat. . . but I proved them wrong! I made it a whole 3 hours before I got home. They were quite surprised when they took me out and I was still dry! They were even cheering and singing some funny song about me staying dry! Mommy then rushed me up the stairs to go sit on the potty! This is when she took this picture of me! Yup, we were both feeling pretty proud! For some reason, I still didn't have to go, so Mommy said I could get up for a bit, but that I would have to try again in a little while. Well, with that good news I ran over to my toys and with all the excitement of not seeing them in 3 1/2 hours, . . . well, I peed! ;-)

Big Boy!

Well, two weeks shy of his 20 month birthday our little baby is become a big boy!!! That's right! He has been using the potty for about a week now. Some days have been more successful then others and there was a moment when Mommy wanted to give up. . . but he is finally getting it!!!! Just today he came up to tell Mommy that he had to go potty (without being told to try!) He ran to the potty, put his potty chair on the toilet, sat down, and went! Yippee! I am sure we will have some setbacks but, he is definitely on the right track. It sure helps having his big sister show him how it's done! However Sister and Mommy have both learned the hard way training a boy, not to sit in front of him but rather beside him when he is on the potty! It only took us being peed on once to learn our lesson! :-)

Too Bright???

This is how Mommy found me this morning! I slept in until 8:20, so it was pretty bright in my room with an East window! Wrapping the blanket around my eyes was the way to go! :-)

As you can tell I am outgrowing my crib pretty fast. I like to sprawl out when I sleep! Mommy said I get my new "big boy bed" when we move into the new house in a couple weeks! Won't that be exciting! I am already looking forward to crawling out of bed ten times a night before I go to bed like my sister does! Daddy and Mommy can hardly wait for all the fun, tucking us both into bed so many times a night! ;-)

Grandpa's Retirement Party

Grandpa finally retired and what better way to celebrate, then by going to the zoo to look at all the animals, by going on a carousal ride, and by going out for lunch!

Oh my!

Today was PJ day at daycare! Let me tell you, I think everyday should be PJ day! It sure makes the mornings go smoothly when you don't have to worry about getting kids dressed . . . just throw them in the car!

Well, this morning I went into my little girl's room, who was still sound asleep! I sat down on her bed, rubbed her back and whispered, "Sweetie get up! It's Jammie day at Dawn's house today!" She turned to me, still half asleep and said, "Mommy, my green socks don't match my jammies!"

Oh my! I can foresee some challenging teenage years ahead! ;-)
