Well, for some reason this summer seems to be just as busy as ever! We are always on the go and when we are home, we are busy making our new house into a home.
With all that has been going on it has been awhile since I posted any milestones! We'll start with the little guy!
* He is still doing great on the potty training. He even made it through 10 days of being on an antibiotic that really affected his tummy. . . glad that is over!
* We just had him in for his seventh ear infection since Christmas! YES 7! Poor little guy! That is partly why he has been SO extremely crabby and clingy. All these ear infections have really turned him into a Mommy's Boy! We are thinking he will get tubes in the near future, but we are also hoping that we can wait until he gets a little older so that they can also take his huge tonsils out at the same time. They can do it when he is this young, but we would just feel better if he was a little older! We'll see what the next couple months bring. . .
* He is learning lots of new words everyday. It is so nice when they can actually tell you want that want! Love it!!! He also uses a lot of sign language to get what he wants. Some of his favorite signs are: More, eat, drink, thank you, up, yellow, blue, green, black, white. Some of his favorite words are: Mommy, Daddy, Libby, Bapa aka Grandpa, Maama aka Grandma, Nana, Papa, Emmoorree aka Emery,Yellow, gorilla, popcorn, milk, no, and all the animal sounds.
* He knows all of his colors. (His favorite book is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear".) ;-) He can't say them all, but he can point to any color you ask. To my surprise tonight when I quizzed him 5 times in a row he got them all right, every time! Yippee!
* He also is never seen without little animals in his hands. His favorite animals that he carries around are: a elephant, a cow, a pig, and a little farmer (which was recently lost at Kohl's last week!). He has also been known to try to "steal" animals from cousins, grandparents, and mommy's classroom whenever he can. He as also gotten smart enough to hide them in his pockets until we get home, since he knows we make him give them back before we leave. Because of this his cow and pig collection has grown quite a lot in size. (take a look at the "Parade" post, that cow he is holding in every picture, he stole from his cousin! He doesn't plan on giving it back anytime soon! Good thing he has a nice cousin!) :-) He also likes to arrange his animals all around the house. Today I took this picture of his animals lined up around his bowl of popcorn.
Onto our little princess wannabe!
* She has been busy going to gymnastics again this summer. She loves going and gets super excited about it, but once we get there she clams up and will not go into the gym. The last four times we have went, the instructor has to come and pry her off of us and carry her into the gym. Talk about tearing at your heart strings! It is nice however, since the room she is in has a camera with a TV out in the hall so you can watch her without her knowing it. She does warm up once she gets in there, but it takes her a bit.
* Last week she learned how to write her name all by herself. Yippee!
* That is pretty much it with her. She talks up a storm (when we are at home) and is always asking tons of questions. She is a great big sister (when she wants to be) and she is definitely daddy's little girl. She always wants to wear dresses or dance costumes! Yes, she is totally all girl! Lord help us for her teenage years! :-)
