Brother is changing SO much these last couple weeks! He has always been a busy boy, but now he really IS into everything! He has also developed a great sense of humor! He tries to be silly just like is sister, just to make you laugh! Yesterday he also mastered waving and giving high-fives! Pretty exciting stuff going on in the Holland household! :-) Also, anytime big sister Emery takes something from him, he looks over at mommy and daddy with big puppy-dog eyes and then starts to cry (as if he was tattling on her!) Yes, it has already started!
At his 9 month checkup that he had this week he weighed 17 lbs. 9 oz (20%), was 28 3/4 inches long (75%), and his head was 17 7/8 (50%). He is definitely long and wirey!
He keeps us busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way! He has been a great addition to our family and we just love him so much!
P.S. Sorry the picture is blurry. . . but we have trouble getting him to hold still long enough to get a good one! ;-)

Daddy's Fishing Trip
Daddy had an awesome time in Alaska. Here is the Kenai River, one of the places they went fishing.
Here is Daddy and his good friend Nick with a couple of their salmon that they caught.

Missing Daddy!
For those of you who don't know, Daddy went to Alaska for the week to visit one of his good friends. He just called and said he is bring home lots of fish and is having a great time!
While he has been gone Brother has come down with an ear infection which means lots of sleepless nights for Mommy! He has also cut three new teeth, now he has 7. . . which means even more sleepless nights! :-) Actually it hasn't all been bad. Mommy has had lots of time to practice getting Brother to say, "Mama"! Which he now says all day long like a broken record! He has also stood up on his own in the middle of the floor several times without holding onto anything! Pretty exciting stuff. . . too bad Daddy is missing it and too bad Mommy sent her camera with Daddy so she can't capture any of it! ;-)
Daddy gets back tomorrow and we can't wait! We miss him. . . and by the sound of his voice on the phone tonight, he misses us too!

The Fair
Tonight we met Lauren, Uncle Eric, and Auntie Amanda at the Fair. We had a great time! I don't know who enjoyed the rides more. . . me or daddy?!?!
After going on some rides, we headed over to the petting zoo. Uncle Eric bought me some grain to feed the goats.

Changing times!
Well, back home the landscape will never be the same! They are putting up a wind farm that will have about 72 wind turbines. So far, just north of the lake when you stand on the beach you can see the 12 that they already have up. It is quite the sight! I knew they were coming but it still takes your breath away when you drive over the hills on your way home and see these HUGE wind towers from miles away! Then you get home and realize they are in your back yard and the landscape you remember as a child isn't there anymore. It is kind of bittersweet!
Here is a picture of my mom standing on one of the wind tower bases. As you can see they have to dig quite the hole for the base!
Here is the next phase where they add the medal rods to help stabilize the towers.
Here is a picture again of my mom standing by the propellers. They are HUGE!
If you look close you can see men walking on top of these things! I wouldn't want that job!

If you look at the family picture of us on the next posting and click on it to see it bigger. . . you can really see all the towers! :-)
4th of July Fun!
4th of July fun at Nana & Papa's!
There is always something fun to do at Nana & Papa's Ranch! From picking and smelling some of Nana's many beautiful flowers . . .
to shooting innocent bystanders with squirt guns as they walk by. . .
to playing with cousins (have you been ball'n long?) . . .

Our backyard!
As you can tell they are doing some major work in our backyard. The dike that used to go through our back yard is being widened and lowered. What a mess! The orange fence you see at the bottom is about 20 or 30 feet from our house!
