Things have moved really fast for Little E. We met with our new Dr (the one we love) about a month after his diagnosis. She told us we could have the pump for him in about 6 months. We were thinking it would be this summer sometime. Well it turns out his blood sugar levels were harder to manage then they thought and she recommended getting a pump sooner then later. We jumped at the opportunity. . . Anything to help our little buddy!!! So we are officially 1 1/2 months in and TODAY he got his pump!!! Our Dr. told us that she has never had a patient get a pump so soon after diagnosis but in his case she thinks it is a good thing!
Here he is looking through a carb counting book as we visit with the diabetic educator. He interrupted us several times to point at pictures to tell us to make THIS for supper! He is also holding his lion, Lenny, that the nurse gave him as a gift today!
Here he is all hooked up to the pump. No tears or anything. He knows the pump is a good thing. . . No more shots!
We took him to Dino Land at the mall after he was all hooked up. We found out quick we needed to rig something up because the pump fell off twice and kept pulling his pants down with the weight (We think he is cursed with the Holland butt!. . . aka NO butt!) ;-) I sewed a little Velcro belt that he can wear around his waist. Funny thing is he fought me more about the belt then he did the pump. He kept saying, "Mom Dinosaurs don't wear belts!"
We are sure the next couple weeks/months will be crazy trying to figure out the right amounts of insulin to give him to help him stay more level, but the pump is a step in the right direction. It will help make giving the tinest (1 tenth of a unit) of insulin easier and more accurate.
We are SO proud of our little buddy! He really is a trooper through all of this. Last week after he was done with supper I walked over to him and asked him how much food he ate and without skipping a beat he held up ten fingers and said, "This many carbs Mom!" Too cute!

Christmas Day
Mommy realized as she was going through all her pictures of this weekend that she takes WAY too many pictures! Here are just a few of the many. She would be here all night uploading if she did them all.
Just when we thought we have been spoiled beyond belief, we arrived at Nana and Papa's. :-) Not only were we spoiled by Nana and Papa but also by Great Grandma M and Wanda!
Love this picture of Papa and Baby A!!!
Baby M was wearing Little E's old Christmas dress. It sure brought back memories seeing her wear it! Isn't she a little doll?!?!
Papa and Nana got the kids some new cowboy hats, shirts, and boots. They look like they are ready for some steer wrestling! ;-)
Well, I thought Baby A was going to be a finger sucker, but it turns out she is now a thumb sucker! She has been doing it nonstop for the last couple weeks. I try and TRY to get her to take the pacifier but I'm having no luck!
Big sister LOVES to help with her baby sister!
For some reason the sunrises and sunsets are always better at Nana and Papa's. I LOVE looking out the windows when we are home to see them!!!
Thanks EVERYONE for a wonderful weekend!!! We are truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for!

Santa's Gifts
All through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. . .
Yes, the kids had never went to bed as good as they did on Christmas Eve. There were definitely visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads! Thankfully St. Nick arrived and brought them everything they wanted and then some! :-)
For the past several months Little E has been using his blanket tied around his neck with a chip bag clip as a makeshift cape. . . boy was he excited to see that Santa brought him a REAL cape so now he can be a real super hero instead of just a pretend one! He wore his mask, cape, cowboy hat, and boots all the way to Nana and Papa's house. He wouldn't even take them off when we stopped at a gas station to use the bathroom! :-) One little girl at the gas station said to him in the most puzzling voice, "A superhero cowboy?!?!" LOL

Christmas Eve
We had yet another wonderful Christmas Eve with Grandpa and Grandma. Of course the night wouldn't be complete without a candle lit church service, too much food, and too many present.
Grandpa and Grandma have a good memory. Little E told them a while ago that he wanted a hunting jacket like his daddies. Mommy searched all over for one and never found it, thankfully they did! :-)
It's a little big, but he has a couple years to grow into it before Mommy will actually let him go with Daddy anyway! ;-)

Christmas Eve Morning
Christmas Eve morning we were able to finally open the presents under our tree.
Little E got a train that fits around the bottom of the Christmas Tree.

Miss E got the doll bed that I finally finished around 11:00 p.m. the night before!!! Nothing like leaving things to the last minute!

Santa
What would Christmas be without a trip in to see Santa. Everyone was excited to see him, except for Baby A, she was HUNGRY! As excited as Miss E and Little E were, they still didn't want to sit on his lap. They did however tell him what they wanted. . . Miss E asked for a y0-yo and Little E wanted dinosaurs. (Go figure!)
The trip wouldn't be complete without getting to see Santa's Reindeer. . .
and getting to make a Christmas ornament. . .
and getting to see the Christmas train station. Yes, we had a fun afternoon! Now hopefully Santa brings us everything we want! :-)

Little Peanut
Baby A had her four month check up today and yup it is confirmed...she is a little peanut!
She weighed in at 11 pounds 5 ounces (8th percentile), was 24 inches long (41st percentile) and her head was 39 centimeters (6th percentile).
For some reason I was expecting her to weigh more. I knew she was light, but was expecting her to be more then 11 pounds. :-)
Of course I had to do some comparisons. Miss E at her 4 month check up weighed 11 lbs 12 oz and was 24 1/2 inches. Brother was 13 lbs 9 oz and 26 inches.

4 Months!
It's hard to believe four months have already flown by! What did we ever do without this little sweetheart in our lives?
She is defiantly a mover! This month she has found her feet and loves to try to eat them whenever possible (note the picture!) She also rolls and rolls. . . We often set her down and find her 5 feet from the place we left her, which has scared us on numerous occasions! We have her four month wellness check up tomorrow so we will see how much she has grown. Can't wait!

Church Christmas Program
The kids did such good job at their church Christmas program this weekend! Here Little E is yelling out "Hi Dad!" as all the kids are getting ready to start singing! ;-)
Happy Birthday Cowgirl!
