Rowe's Wedding

What a wonderful weekend we had! We started it out with the rehearsal and grooms dinner. We got the biggest kick out of everyone showing up in blue! Great minds think alike! As you can tell by the picture, some things never change! I wanted to get a "nice" group picture and this is what I got!

Then Saturday we were off to the wedding! Everything was BEAUTIFUL! I love Christmas weddings! We left our kids with aunties and uncles. It was the first time we were both ever away from them for a weekend and we sure did miss them, but it was SO nice enjoying our weekend with out having to stress over the kids. Thanks aunties and uncles for a weekend away! :-)

Something may have clicked?!?!

I know it is wishful thinking that we got this all figured out in one day, but this morning I went down to wake her up and asked her if she wanted to get a smiley face on her chart! She quickly said yes and got dressed. It only took her 9 minutes!

Today she did deserve her smiley face! However, once she saw that her brother was wearing her old boots to daycare, we had a whole different war to deal with! ;-) How come no one told me parenting was this much fun????

Oh the joys. . .

of having a very independent child!

For the last couple months, our morning routine has become more and more challenging since we have a certain two year old who has to do everything on her own AND on her own time. The problem is when I have to be to work by 8:00 and she is so poky getting dressed! She has to pick out her own clothes, which is fine however when I tell her to pick them out, she won't!!! This battle goes back and forth, where I attempt to pick something for her to wear and she gets upset and wants to do it herself, then when I say, "Fine! pick something out!" and then she won't!!! SO FRUSTRATING! This usually ends with someone in a time-out (usually her!) and someone crying and very frustrated (usually me! Haha!) ;-) I have come to the conclusion that she is just not a morning person (I don't have ANY idea where she could have got that from!?!?!) and that she just needs more time in the mornings so that we are not so stressed and rushed! I have found that sitting on her to force clothes on her, swatting her (Yes, I am one of those parents!), or screaming at her (Yes, I found out I am one of those parents too!) hasn't been working so well or even at all! To prove that, the other morning after I forced her into an outfit and felt very proud of myself for doing so, she whipped them off a second later!

Since I have been running out of ideas on how to get her dressed in the mornings without such a battle, I decided to get some ideas from some of my friends! One friend said that maybe Santa needs to give our house a call! Love this idea. . . if anyone knows Santa's number please pass it onto me!!! ;-) The other suggestion that we tried this morning was a chart and a reward! Well, I decided I would start small and only have three days on the chart (my goal is to make it through the week. . . you've got to start somewhere, right?) Well, I started this morning out super early to give us plenty of time. 55 minutes later, she was dressed (and she did NOT let me help her!) in two dress, a denim skirt under it all, and a pair of tights. Oh how lovely she looked! I made it to work just in time and not a minute early! She did get her smiley face on her chart, however I am not so sure that she deserved it!

And yes I know she isn't looking at me, that is because she is still mad that I didn't give her the prize that she wanted TODAY instead of on Friday! ;-) Oh how fun this is going to be!!! Thanksgiving 2009

This Thanksgiving was a lot like any other. . . we ate,

Yep, it was another GREAT Thanksgiving!

P.S. Mommy has other pictures of the family on Thanksgiving day, but they are on her old camera! She will look at them later, right now she is just having too much fun playing with her new camera that she got on Black Friday! Daddy told her that it is her Christmas, Birthday, V-day, and Mother's Day gift! She thinks it is worth it, but she also thinks if it was part of her gift, then he should have gotten up at 3 a.m. to get it instead making her get up! ;-)

Weekend project

Nana had new counter tops put in awhile ago and this weekend we added the backsplash. It turned out really nice!

Oh the disappointment!

It all started about four months ago when I decided I had enough with my contact lenses and the constant irritation they were causing me. If I did wear them for longer then a day at a time, I was ending up sorry. This may have been my eyes fighting back from me wearing them 24/7 and never giving them a break. Yes, I was one of those people who lived in their contacts, even sleeping in them! My eyes finally said, no more!

Well, that brings us to August when I scheduled my appointment for this November to get my Lasik eye surgery! I had never been more excited! Away with glasses and contacts once and for all! I had planned, did the research, and even had nightmares the week leading up to the surgery. . . I had also saved and flexed to help play for it (Big Mistake!) I had also gone without my contacts for more days then I care to remember to help prepare my eyes for the big day! But low and behold, come my appointment my Dr. tells me that I am not a good candidate for the procedure because my corneas are too thin. I asked him if there was something I did to cause them to be so thin (Like sleeping in them for weeks at a time??) But he assured me that there was nothing I did, some people are just born with thinner corneas. I am grateful that they were honest and were not just money hungry, going ahead with the procedure in fear of the consequences that could have resulted if they did . . .but this just STINKS! I was really looking forward to passing over my glasses to the needy and throwing my contacts out the door.

Not only does this suck for those reasons, but I also have the problem of what do I do now with all that money I flexed, that has to be used for medical purposes? Someone suggested to me that I should just go get some "implants." (If you see me around the next couple months with a brand new figure, you know what happened! Ha-ha!) Another person told me I should just have another baby! (I don't know if saving my flex money would out weigh the daycare and diaper bill that I would get in return?!?) ;-) . . . But I always did want a big family!?!?

Well, I think my best option is that I should try to talk my hubby into getting the lasik surgery done (If he is even a candidate?!?!) But, if he does this, will I always be secretly jealous every time we wake up in the middle of the night and I am fumbling for my glasses and he isn’t? . . .I know I should just be happy for him, but again, this was suppose to be MY surgery! Oh, I will get over it and be happy for him, but again this just stinks!

We have a name!

After much debate, Addi named her horse. . . . drum roll please. . . . . . . . BLAZE!

We had an awesome weekend. The girls and kids had fun relaxing and playing while the boys worked and worked to find some deer. Mommy was the only lucky one this weekend and tagged a buck, which means there are still a lot of tags to fill.

Addi's New Horse

Papa and Nana surprised Addi this weekend with her very own horse! She is VERY excited. She hasn't figured out what she is going to name him yet, but we will keep you posted.




Everyone enjoyed riding him and we can't wait go for another ride again soon!
